Ilaria Fiore and Marco Baitella from Italy are among the ITS 2016 finalists of ITS

41 finalists from 21 nations, 935 projects from 200 schools: these are the figures of the 2106 International Talent Support in Trieste, Italy

According to Barbara Franchin, founder and soul of International Talent Support (ITS), the participants of the 15th edition, to be held on 15th and 16th July in Trieste, are “a generation of creatives who are shedding their skins“.

The projects that arrived in the EVE offices, the agency that created the international platform 15 years ago, have indeed shown an amazing quality, making the evaluation process particularly challenging and difficult.

After a week of intense work, the international jury chose the 41 finalists, which include the Italians Ilaria Fiore, a student from the Accademia Costume e Moda in Rome, for ITS Accessories, and Marco Baitella, a student at the Royal College of Art in London, for ITS Artwork. The other two contest categories are ITS Fashion and ITS Jewelry.

The finalists in the four areas, whose creativity knows no boundaries and travels freely therefore uniting distant places, come from 21 countries: Austria, China, South Korea, Denmark, France, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, New Zealand, Paraguay, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan.

Among those present in the juries of great global caliber: Demna Gvasalia, artistic director of Balenciaga, Carlo Capasa, president of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Iris Van Herpen, fashion designer, Nicola Formichettti, artistic director at Diesel, Valerie Steele, director and head curator of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Sarah Mower, fashion journalist, ambassador for the British Fashion Council for emerging talents and co-chair of BFC NewGen, Colin McDowell, fashion writer and founder of Fashion Fringe, Silvia Venturini Fendi, president of AltaRoma, Marie Claire Daveu, responsible for sustainability and international affairs for the Kering Group, Riccardo Vannetti, Tutorship director at Pitti Immagine, Vivienne Becker, international jewellery expert and fashion historian and author, Floriane de Saint Pierre, founder and director of FSPSA; Sara Maino, senior editor of Vogue Italy and Vogue Talents, Simone Marchetti, fashion editor of D.Repubblica.it, La Repubblica e Repubblica.it, Angelo Flaccavento, fashion critic and curator, Deanna Ferretti, entrepreneur, Kei Kagami, fashion designer and the aforementioned Barbara Franchin, the founder and director of the event.
