Julianna Bass prefall 2016

Julianna Bass continues her collaborations with local German artists this season through the works of Peer Kriesel. Drawn on film stubs and U-Bahn train tickets, Kriesel depicts anxiousmiens, ruined livelihoods, and quirky figures, encompassing the spectrum of human emotion infine lines, vivid colors, and gestural expressions. Building on an architecture of vintage curvesand classic silhouettes, Bass carries this theme into the collection via silk velvets, sumptuousfaux fur, and rich Italian wools accented by graphic lines of illusion tulle and cascades ofvibrant silks. Then the colors: midnight navy, deep jades and plums, absinthe yellow, harvesteddirectly from Peer’s illustrious scrap-paper works. Embroidery, cording, organza, and caviar beadscreate elegant texture, and velvetis printed with whimsical squares of blush.
