The creative direction of womenswear at Lanvin goes to Bouchra Jarrar

The talented French designer of Moroccan origin, who has 20 years of experience in the fashion world, takes over from the Israeli Alber Elbaz

Bouchra Jarrar is the new artistic director of Lanvin women’s collections. The appointment, officially confirmed after days and days of rumours, is effective from Monday 14 March. The very talented French designer has 20 years of experience in the fashion industry on her shoulders: she started her career at Jean-Paul Gaultier, then moved on to Balenciaga, where she remained for 10 years, and later arrived at Christian Lacroix. In 2010 she founded her eponymous label. The appointment was eagerly awaited by the fashion industry, after Alber Elbaz, creative director of womenswear for 14 years, unexpectedly resigned from the Maison last October.
