Indonesian designer, Selphie Bong, who grew up in Singapore, and is famous for the simplicity and elegance of her creations, has been recognized as one of the fifteen most talented young fashion designers in her country. At the age of just 28, she had already been called the Christian Dior of the Orient. In 2009, she founded her own fashion house, where a classical nature looks towards the future, and haute couture encounters fine fabrics, which the designer personally selects in Paris at one of the most prestigious trade fairs held in the city, Première Vision, or from local manufacturers, therefore enhancing the importance of the craftsmanship for which her country is famous. Her incessant search for style often brings her to the capitals of European fashion and to New York where she finds ideas and inspirations that are always new. Her philosophy is to create haute couture pieces that are characterized by an attention to detail and a sartorial mastery, while still responding to the needs of her clients across all latitudes. In fact, her creations are not tied to the seasons. It is on the island of Bali, the island of the gods, where the climate is always mild and the sun shines most of the year, that her garments are  shaped for comfort, with an impalpable texture, an impeccable fit, and able to surpass all boundaries. The secret of her success? A measured balance between lines and colour, elegance and sophistication, in a perfectly graceful style. A flash of shades of colour, for a beautiful silhouette, a precious silk jacket with bright tones alongside romantic dresses embellished with crystals and embroideries, or else delicate and innocently mischievous lace transparencies.
