Bridal Trends 2019: between classics and new visions

From bridal weeks in Barcelona, New York, Milan, and London, everything that’s new in the world of bridal wear, a continually growing segment enriched with fashion content, baptizing well-defined trends in wedding dresses with a glamorous aesthetic, full of charm and style. Just as many models as there are brides’ wishes. Brides who contemplate what dress to choose for their wedding day. A rich and diversified range of alternatives to meet the needs of clients that are ever so international in their tastes: classic or innovative, romantic or minimal, sensual or austere, there’s a perfect dress for every bride.

From voluminous, fairy-tale pieces, with a vaguely retro flavor, to more sensual mermaid dresses , the most important bridal wear fashion houses have developed a rich and diverse series of proposals for 2019. Focus is put on exquisite and refined fabrics: romantic embroidered lace, silk organza and tulle, light chiffon, lustrous taffeta, all enriched by crystal appliqués, pearls, sequins, and sparkling decorations, where materials take on a profound meaning, defining a luxury that finds its strength in craftsmanship. The traditional Princess dress, weightless and romantic, emphasizes volumes, and spectacular widths with close-fitting bodices and bustiers. Flounces and ruffles, an authentic seasonal must, characterize contured volumes and unexpected movements with large bows as decorative motifs, while also hiding hooks or buttons. Sleeves choose different lengths and proportions, from long ones in semi-transparent lace to voluminous gigot or puff sleeves, detached from the shoulder in a contemporary version.

For more daring choices, legs are in view with carefree mini dresses for a truly feminine, decadent silhouette, softened by a lace or tulle cape that covers the shoulders aristocratically. An original accessory that replaces classic veils. Transparencies are very trendy, in lace or tulle, for sensual details or entire dresses, like those that flirt with lingerie, as well as bustier bodices and slip dresses. These effects on tulle with wonderful embroidery or lace details, create a sophisticated “tattoo” look. Cascaded or scattered, flowers become the perfect decoration, even for oversized versions, in chantilly or georgette for an unexpected mood. Great attention is given to spectacular details, such as fringes, feathers, sequins, precious stones, and pearls make each creation a small masterpiece of savoir-faire, often recalling the sophisticated and eternal elegance of 1920s. Necklines are vertiginous V-cuts or boat, leaving shoulders uncovered, or turtle necks for more informal two-pieces, while the color palette ranges from delicate nuances of pink and blue to full, decisive tones of red, yellow, and purple.
