Swarovski in Shanghai for the Seventh Edition of World Jewelry Facets
Held this past June in Shanghai, with “The Art of Crystal” as its theme, the seventh edition of World Jewelry Facets was a great success. More than fifty of the best international fashion and jewelry designers were protagonists of the event that brought together craftsmanship, talent, and high jewelry from a perspective of absolute excellence. A tribute to the artistic creatively, the technological superiority, and the uncompromising quality of Swarovski crystals, World Jewelry Facets highlights the vision of fashion jewelry designers who collaborate with the crystal maison. A magnificent celebration lit up the Shanghai Gallery of Art at Three on the Bund. The historically iconic building, restored in 2000 by the renowned architect, Michael Graves, and today considered one of the most important sites of the city, was the perfect setting for the Official Opening of World Jewelry Facets 2016 and the presentation of splendid design projects, accompanied by engaging works of art. These included videos and a kinetic installation, which combined handmade and biomimetic fabrics, along with a textile fiber made of Swarovski crystals. In keeping with Swarovski’s long tradition of partnerships, World Jewelry Facets promoted the finest creations in the world of high jewelry. The international designers who contributed towards making this exhibition memorable through one-off showpieces included Nina Ricci, Jean Paul Gaultier for Swarovski, Versace, and Vivienne Westwood just to mention a few. Later this year, Paris and Monaco will also have the pleasure to host this extraordinary event.
