Spotlight on soft and fluid shapes and on textured fabrics. The finest, almost gossamer, knits and an abundance of denim and chambray. A wide-ranging colour palette that includes a variety of pastel and neutral tones, unashamedly bright shades, monochrome contrast games. All the possible variations of the floral print theme with a special focus on larger multicolour patterns inspired by the Tropics. Bold allover abstract prints and a great variety of stripes, more often than not referring to the maritime theme. African, ethnic, tribal references for prints and especially for decorative details.
These are some of the key Spring/Summer 2017 trends spotted at the last edition of Pure London, the most important showcase for women’s apparel and accessories in Britain. Held as usual at the Olympia exhibition centre in Kensington, the trade show offered over the course of three days a comprehensive panorama of all segments of womenswear, from premium fashion to young fashion, all the way to collections for immediate delivery.
A strong focus on apparel and accessories for the younger segment of the womenswear market in the Spirit section that showcased among others the collections of brands and labels such as Cheap Monday, WeSC, Dr Denim, Wåven, Brakeburn, The Project Garments, Beyond Retro, Ultra Tee, Collectif London Pop Boutique.
As usual, a very strong offering in the accessories and footwear section with interesting proposals such as the footwear by TF Slack London, Arrels, Chie Mihara, the bags by Nagatami, Açaï, Bo-Borsa, Smiles Bags, the jewellery by Rachel Codd and Auren, the matches by Ellie Beaumont.
The trade show also offered a small section dedicated to apparel and accessories for men with established brands and emerging labels such as Bench, Original Penguin Tailored, Hanro, De La Commune.
The next edition of Pure London is scheduled to take place from the 12 to the 14th of February 2017.
