Catarzi: hats full of poetry

The Catarzi headwear are true works of magic and beauty, created in Signa, the Tuscan area near Florence famous for straw craftsmanship.

There are objects that give off a unique timeless charm. Artefacts that tell wonderfully amazing stories, keepers of an ancient knowledge and of a genuine passion that are hard to describe. The Filippo Catarzi hats are just that, magical small items born from the perfect alchemic fusion of feeling, energy, wisdom, tradition, creativity. Masterpieces destined to defy time and the best expression of the throughly proud Italian excellence of Signa, an area in Tuscany famous since the early years of the 1900s for straw craftsmanship. Each style contains and expresses the innate passion of the four generations that for over a century have run the business, which was founded as a small workshop by the professional straw artisan Olderigo Catarzi and which has evolved into one of the most important Italian players in the production and sale of hats. The business is nowadays run by Maurizio Catarzi, direct descendant of the great-grandfather who started it all.

The Filippo Catarzi company works with major fashion brands and produces annually over 200 thousand hats for the Italian market but also for France, Spain, United States, Japan. It produces two exclusive ranges, ‘Capogiro Firenze’ and ‘Catarzi 1910’. Lively, playful, colourful, edgy, inspired by everyday life, the former proposes a new affordable and discreet luxury in an urban glamour key. Catarzi 1910 instead is the most prestigious range where research and innovation reach the highest levels in the creation of hats of superior quality and unique design. The leitmotif is the unique style of each piece, in line with the latest high fashion trends but also with the new developments in terms of fabrics and distinctive details. The winner is always and forever originality.
